Charity Miles- Ongoing Opportunity

Fight hunger by exercising! Download the Charity Miles app, choose Feeding America as your charity, and join the Fighting Hunger Club group! Don't forget to fill out the Google Form to get hours!

Holiday Bazaar

We raised $400/4,000 meals for Feeding America through our stand at the Holiday Bazaar!

Thanksgiving Food Drive

We held a Thanksgiving Food Drive from Nov 18 - Dec 3 and donated 181 items/210 lbs of food to Hopelink!

We created posters to hang around school to advertise the our club!

COINSTAR FUNDRAISER

  • Coinstar Kiosks are machines that turn your coins into cash or gift cards! They now have an added feature that allows you to donate the amount of money that you put into the machine to different charities!

  • We will be supporting Feeding America through this new feature in the Coinstar Kiosks. 

  • You can turn any loose change you have into donations or go around your neighborhood asking if anyone would like to be involved in the cause as well

FREE RICE YEARLONG FUNDRAISER

Freerice is an ad-supported, free-to-play website and mobile application that allows players to donate rice to families in need by playing a multiple-choice quiz game. For every question the user answers correctly, 5 grains of rice are donated via the United Nation's World Food Program! Join the FHC group with the code KYHG82HF and earn 1 service hour per 1,000-2,000 grains of rice you collect! For more specific information go to the Meeting Slideshows tab and look for the 10/2/20 slideshow!

FEBRUARY FOOD DRIVE

January 30 - February 14, 2020

From Monday 1/30 to Friday 2/14 we hosted a food drive! All donations went to Hopelink, a nonprofit organization and one of the largest nonprofits serving Washington. We donated 177 items and 138 pounds of food!

FUNDRAISER AT THE BASKETBALL GAME 

January 4, 2020

During Skyline’s basketball games we were able to raise $200 for Feeding America! Thanks to everyone who volunteered and donated for this great cause!

SKYLINE HOLIDAY BAZAAR - FEEDING AMERICA

December 7, 2020

During the Skyline Holiday Bazaar we had a booth set up for donations to Feeding America. We raised $320 for Feeding America! Each $1 provides 10 meals through the Feeding America network of food banks!

Homecoming Fundraiser

We hosted a polaroid photo booth at the homecoming football game to fundraise for our club and Feeding America! We made $112 and donated 750 meals to Feeding America!​

  • In order for money to be donated, you have to shop @ smile.amazon.com and not amazon.com 

  • You can use the same account as you use on amazon.com

  • Hunger-related charities you can donate to include Heifer International, Rise Against Hunger, and various food banks

  • Make sure to fill out the service form when you finish!

Awareness Activity

Using Canva, Word, Google Docs, art supplies, or other creative designing platforms, create an infographic about a food-related topic that you think needs awareness, such as food waste or food insecurity (more info about those topics can be found in past powerpoints). Once you finish, complete the service activity form to document your hours and then share it with friends, family, social media, or hang it up around your neighborhood! Let us know if there are any questions and the due date is Wednesday, March 10!
